Yes! By using an Instagram filter on your post you could get more engagement. Researchers from Georgia Tech and Yahoo Labs analyzed millions of photos and corresponding data on how frequently they were viewed and commented on and found that “filtered photos are 21% more likely to be viewed and 45% more likely to be commented on than unfiltered ones.” Researchers found that the top filters to increase chances of views and comments were ones that created higher exposure, warm temperatures and higher contrast. Higher exposure filters were tied to more views, and filters that created more warmth had the biggest correlation with comments.

Experiment with the different filters Instagram provides or try out some photo editing apps. Test out a few and track your engagement and response to see if this proves true for your brand. Remember that being genuine in your content and connecting with your audience will get you a better response, no matter what filter you may use.
