KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI (October 26, 2016) - Webb Technology Group, LLC., a Kansas City-based minority and veteran-owned mobile technology firm specializing in nimble and responsive technology is proud to announce their recent 8(a) Business Development program certification awarded by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
After passing the rigorous requirements of the 8(a) certification process, this award proves that Webb Technology Group meets the requirements to do business with local, state, and federal government agencies as well as large corporations, as a small disadvantaged business. “Being an 8(a) certified business will really help Webb Technology Group with things like SBA-backed loans and joining mentorship programs with other business owners to bid on government contracts.” said Cecil Webb, Founder and Principal Owner. “More than that though it helps Webb Technology Group strengthen its standing as a women and minority-owned business advocate.”
The SBA 8(a) program provides business development assistance to companies owned and managed by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals and gives them the opportunity to compete in the federal marketplace. In order to be certified by the SBA, an applicant must: be a small business; be unconditionally owned and controlled by one or more socially and economically disadvantaged individuals who are of good character, be citizens of the United States; and must demonstrate potential for success. This certification gives Webb Technology Group the opportunity to bid on contracts that are specifically set aside for SBA 8(a) program participants.
