The time really does matter! Before you post your photo to Instagram, there are two things to keep in mind: your audience’s time zone and what time they’re most often checking Instagram.
Most users login in the morning, and in the evening, on their way home from work or school. Choosing the right time to post is important because the lifespan of each post is roughly 4 hours before it gets buried in follower’s feeds.
It’s a good idea to post at times throughout the day that you can assume your audience has down time and is checking their accounts. Research your target demographic and adjust your times based on their patterns. If you haven’t already, upgrade your account to a business profile and review your Instagram analytics. These insights give you valuable data about who your followers are, when they’re online and how many people viewed your post. Practice really does make perfect, even when it comes to timing with social media marketing!
